GIANT Storybooks: A Peculiar Pasta Mystery

The GIANT Room invited GIANT kids and their families to participate in GIANT Creative Bootcamp, a program designed to boost creativity, ideation, and design thinking skills! For one week, I sent families personalized, daily videos with a creative challenge, prompting kids to build and make with materials they already had at home.

GIANT families then submitted photos of these projects to us, and I mixed and remixed them to create personalized storybooks! The characters, inventions, settings, and foods that each kid created appear throughout their story, forming a unique narrative based on their submissions.

PROJECT ROLES

Program Designer & Project Manager

Along with The GIANT Room founder, I helped to design and implement the concept for GIANT Creative Bootcamp program. I managed the project for its entire duration, including marketing to the GIANT community through social media and email, communicating with families, receiving and organizing submissions, sending out personalized prompts, tracking student progress and participation, and overseeing GIANT interns.

Writer

I wrote each of the personalized storybooks. After writing a template story, I weaved the projects the child submitted into the story as characters, inventions that the character uses to solve the book’s mystery, and settings.

Designer

I used Leonardo AI, a generative AI program to make the book’s illustrations and graphics. Because there were ten books to create in a limited timeframe, I kept the design simple.
