MUSES: Music for Extraordinary Students was a program that taught music to children in foster care and prevention services from 2018-2020. MUSES aimed to empower youth by teaching them how to use the skills and values that are needed to learn an instrument, such as persistence, dedication and self-expression, and how to apply these values to their outside lives.
MUSES was partnered with the Mott Haven Academy Charter School, where students received two individual lessons each week and performed in a concert at the end of each semester for teachers, friends, and family.
MUSES was the recipients of the Alsop Entrepreneurship Award at The New School.
